Hello Potential Sponsors and Benefactors,

My name is Scott Kandel.  I am the founder and Chief Altruistic Officer of Warthog Racing (www.WarthogRacing.com).  Warthog Racing runs a professional Supercross/Motocross race team – the largest team in the world and has been focused on helping "privateer" racers since 2003.  We are unique in that we support very talented professional racers that we refer to as the noble privateers.  These men and women are resource disadvantaged and we work extremely hard to find them the necessary resources to allow them to live their dreams, with a chance to rise to the top of the sport.  Operating on a not-for-profit basis through our relationships with The World Zoo Ministries, which is led by the Reverend Stephen Shippy, and also The Fast Friends Foundation, recently founded by Steve Jugan, our programs provide charitable donation tax benefits of 501(c)3 organizations to contributors.

I have attached a link right below for the 2010 Title Sponsorship Proposal in PDF format for your review.  Just single, double or Ctrl- Click on the link to begin the download process, depending on your e-mail program.  It will be coming from my Apple scottkandel.me.com account and is virus free.  It is approximately 15MB and will download quickly.  If you would like the original in 2007 PowerPoint format, please contact me directly at 213 268-2659.

The men and women selected to The Warthog Racing Academy program are evaluated through a demanding tryout process and coaching program developed by the innovative Bryan McDonald, who, I believe, will soon be a name everyone will know as he is getting the kind of performance from the kids selected to the Academy many deemed impossible.  And all that has come in a very short period of time; their progress under Bryan's Signature Coaching methods  is truly remarkable.  These racers will be allocated resources like money, sponsor support, and likely race motorcycles provided by Gateway Cycles in Kentucky and Kawasaki Motorcycles so that they can compete to be the best in the world.  We only have one paid position on staff – the team truck driver.  The dozens of others that help make Warthog Racing a reality are all volunteers, including myself and Ted Parks, the highly qualified and newly appointed Race Director.

Run on this model during the entire 2009, The Warthog Racing Academy won the 2009 MX SPORT/AMA TEAM OF THE YEAR AWARD, an award that is typically given to only factory and factory satellite team.  It was quite an honor for our team to receive this award, as we will strive to do the same in 2010.

If you like to find out more about my background and my passion to support the noble privateer racers, please visit my publicLinkedIn.com profile at:

Our mission is to help deserving privateer racers live their dreams.  We’ve been living this vision since 2003.  One of our programs – The Warthog Racing Academy -- provides the riders motorcycle transportation, pit set-up, mechanics, gas, food, water, hospitality, and rider marketing and promotion, as well as the opportunity for riders to “graduate” to better resources teams at any time during the season.  The individual riders are responsible for their own motorcycles, race entry fees, and travel expenses.

The economic turbulence of 2009 has not been kind to our industry, many of our riders, and our team.  Although we have worked so very hard throughout this season to line up the sponsors and benefactors, to date we have come up short of our financial goals to run our programs at an acceptable level.  But Warthog Racing has never given up and we won’t now.  Our kids need us (and you) more than ever.

Like the team and many of our riders, those with the greatest potential to transform their talent into achievement, are  short of the money and resources needed to make it through the season.  These are excellent riders like Jesse CasillasAdam Chatfield,Teddy ParksCody Gilmore (who recently came back to the sport after fighting spinal cancer for several years), Jeff Loop (at 6’8”, he is the tallest professional racer ever) , Preston Mull (who just recently was named his high school’s valedictorian), andJosh Clark, the relatively unknown wunderkind from the North East plus a host of others.  In all, we will support
over 20 riderscombined in the West and East divisions of the 2010 AMA Supercross Series in addition to the 15 riders we will support in the2010 Outdoor National Series.  These riders do not deserve to sit on the sidelines this year – working together, we will find a way to help them succeed and live their dreams.

This is where you as an individual or representative of a company can come in to save the day.  You or your company can be the either the personal TITLE sponsor of one of these riders in The Warthog Racing Academy or as a company, the TITLE  sponsor of the team itself.  The team still has its TITLE Sponsor position open as well as sponsorship spots at every level. If the season were to start today, it would be totally funded by two huge corporations, American Express and Visa; unfortunately, I would once again be the personal underwriter, as I was for most of the 2009 season.  As for of the individual riders, contributions ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 will make a HUGE DIFFERENCE in the careers of these riders.  At the end of the day, any kind of support for these riders will help.  As personal TITLE sponsor, you will have large co-TITLE sponsor decals on the rider’s race motorcycles and the race uniforms.  We will also provide VIP tickets and treatment to you and a guest at two Supercross events during the 2010 Supercross season (www.SupercrossOnline.com).  In a nutshell, you can be your own race team manager for the rider of your choice.

As you will see, we have a great set of programs planned but without your support, these plans and their incredibly positive impactwill not be fully realized.  I personally have given everything I have – wealth, health, and family – in pursuit of the dream of “making the sport better, forever, and for everyone in it” and as failure is never an option, we must all redouble are effort.

Please let me know your thoughts at your earliest convenience as the season starts Jan 9th, 2010.  I will provide you a lot more detail about our programs if you would like to get more involved.  Let’s allow these kids  to be focused on their racing so  they can continue to do amazing things.  You can contact me anytime, as this is a 24/7 organization and right now no stone will be left unturned in our quest to help these kids live their dreams!!!

Kind Regards,

Scott Kandel

SERA Hare Scrambles, Final Round
November 22, 2009
Story and Photos by Steve Bruhn

Hare Scrambles is Not Just for Kids

Frank Davis, 42, #3, won the AA class.

Tyler Carter, 17,  waiting for the start.

Vet rider Frank Davis of Trussville, AL won the final round of the 10-race Southern Enduro Rider’s Association (SERA) Hare Scrambles after passing high school senior Tyler Carter in the AA class.

About 120 riders raced the damp 13-mile track in 16 different classes. The staggered start was on wet grass, and plenty of riders took a spill in the beginning and had to catch up.  Three laps took about 2 hours.

Carter led the start and most of the race, but veterans didn’t let him get away. Steve Nicholas, in his 14th year in the AA class, slipped in the grass on the start but caught up and took the lead when Carter made a mistake. He made a mistake as well, then Frank Davis, who had been in sight of the leader for most of the race, took advantage of a Carter mistake for the win.

.

.

This round was organized by the North Alabama Trail Rider’s Association (NATRA), in West Point, TN, about 40 minutes north of Florence, AL. NATRA also organizes an AMA national enduro at the same location.

Hare scrambles families stay busy in the south with both scrambles and enduros. Some do dozens of events each year. Even though the economy has slowed things a little, there is still a lot of racing.

Podium Profiles, a Closer Look at the Top Three in AA:

Nicholas

Steve Nicholas of Mobile, AL finished third in AA and travels with his family in a Gearbox rig full of bikes. “I have been riding AA for about 14 years. I’m one of the veterans,” he said. “I fell on the second turn in the slippery grass. I just felt it out for a little bit and got into the lead about halfway through, then fell and one of the guys passed me. Then I fell again and the other guy passed me so I was in third. On the second lap I was about 20 seconds down and pushing really hard to catch them. I thought I could do it because they were in sight. I wadded up in the back on the third lap and that was it. The track was about medium, not too bad, about what we would expect.”

Nicholas is on the road most weekend to race. “I have a Gearbox trailer and we put about 10 bikes in that thing every weekend and head out. We did the whole SERA series and some of the GNCC races,” he said, “I finished second overall for the series, so this was a good year for us. I took my son to race those GNCCs. He’s 12 years old and in the junior class. He wants to be a woods race. He have him home-schooled now and we want to chase the GNCC series next year in 12-13 modified class. We will be ready to go in February. Hopefully it will make him a better rider. Those young kids are flying out there. We do SERA enduros too, about 30 races a year.”

Carter gets the holeshot.

Tyler Carter of Stanton, AL finished second after leading most of the race, and wants to work up to GNCCs. “I’m still a senior in high school. “[The track] wasn’t that bad. It was a little slick, but I like the slick stuff. It was a lot of fun. Hare Scrambles is what I mostly do. I have been running the SETRA Hare Scrambles and just finished up the SERA series. I have done the whole SERA series and I’m going to so the whole SETRA series. I used to do motocross when I was a kid, but I just decided I would stick to the woods. Hopefully I will work my way up to the GNCCs.”

Carter

“I got the holeshot and led for about half the first lap, said Carter, “I made a mistake and Steve Nicholas passed me. I got back up and got behind him and passed him back right before the end of the first lap. I led the whole second lap, the wrecked on the last lap and Frank Davis passed me and I finished second. The track was rocky and rutty. There were a lot of hills and roots, but it was fun. It was a mixture of fast and tight, it was good. I could have gone another lap. I enjoyed it.  My next race will be the [Little Brown Jug] SETRA round in South Carolina.”

Carter

The winner, Frank Davis of Trussville, AL is the senior in the AA class, and stays in it because he has two children that race too. “This is my 11th year,” he said, “I started racing when I was 31. I’m the oldest guy in the AA class. This is my first win this year. My kids enjoy it, and while I am here, I am going to race. I have a 6-year old that races in beginner/peewee, and a 10-year old that races in intermediate. We used to do hare scrambles and enduro, but with these economic times, we scaled it back to just hare scrambles. I’ve done all of the SERA hare scrambles and another Alabama series, so maybe 20 races total this year. Normally we are on the road 30 weekends a year, but this year we scaled it back to about 20. Attendance is down. This is the last hare scrambles of the year the championship was already sewn up.  Tyler and I were racing for overall, 4th or 5th. I had a good time.”

Davis

“I got lucky, the young kid I was racing made a mistake on the last lap! That allowed me to get by him,” said Davis, “Normally I can’t beat him, but today I held on to the end. He’s a friend of mine’s son, he’s 17 and I’m 42 (laughs.) I have a 2009 KX450F. It just has suspension mods and a big tank. I was second off the start, then actually let a friend of mine by because he has been beating me. I let him by so he and Tyler could battle. He made a mistake and I was feeling pretty good, so I didn’t let him by anymore. I hung on to Tyler’s back tire for about 2 ½ laps. I just tried to hang on to him and it paid off. He made a mistake and just lost the front end in a slow corner. I got around him and was able to hold on until the end.”

Davis after 3 laps, and 2 hours of racing.

“This is a typical nature race,” said Davis, “It has a little bit of everything. It has some rocks, some slippery dirt, some good dirt, tight woods, and wide open 5th gear fast-as-you-can-go stuff.  The track was 13 miles long. I like the longer courses myself.”

Davis.

Clash for Cash Lives Up to Its Name

Johnny Marley, Arenacross Tour defending champion, at the night show opening in Batesville, MS.
.
Batesville, MS: The 2009-2010 Arenacross Tour, a 9-round professional and amateur series with events in Mississippi and Tennessee, kicked off its season Saturday night, and the 20-lap “Clash for Cash” main event lived up to its name.

Defending Arenacross Tour champion Johnny Marley of Guthrie, OK won both his motos in Pro AX (the premier 450 class) but clashed with a lapped rider in the final race of the night while under pressure from 21 year-old Johnny Moore of Madison, MS. Moore won the Clash for Cash, and went 1-2 in AX Pro Lites (the premier 250 class).
.
.
All ages and skills are represented in the night show.
.
.
Marley passes Moore in AX Pro, moto 2.
.
.
Johnny Moore leads the series after Round 1.
.
The Arenacross Tour is a mix of pros and amateurs and has age groups from 50s to Vets, and quads are in the mix as well. There are 2 women’s classes, a pitbike race, and a family relay race. The night shows go fast and have something for everyone. Saturday’s race was just short of 300 entries at 299 riders.
.
.
Night shows have good variety and are a lot of fun.
.

.
Quads are part of the show in Arenacross in the south. No gun racks though.
.
.
Don't stand too close to the track with these guys...
.
Saturday’s track was built by Justin Thompson of Brigdon, Ontario, who raced AX Pro and finished second with a 2-2 score behind Marley. He went on to finish second in the Clash for Cash behind Moore by staying out of trouble.

Even though Thompson built the track, he didn’t mind criticizing his creation. “I didn’t like it,” he said, “I had some slippery spots I didn’t like but you never know until you ride them.”
Johnny Marley was on a roll Saturday until the last race. He won both AX Pro motos and went 1-3 in AX Lites Pro. The top riders from both are combined to make up the 20-lap Clash for Cash main event. Only the Clash for Cash counts for series points.

Marley took the holeshot in the Clash for Cash, leading Moore, Jonathan Dove and Kyle Gills. Marley had a clear track and set a fast pace, and no one got close enough to challenge him until about the halfway point, when a rider was down at the end of the whoops and lapped traffic started to complicate things.

Moore started pouring it on and closed the gap at the mid-point. Just as Moore was getting close enough to challenge Marley, Marley went wide in the turn after the whoops after avoiding the downed rider, then made contact with Jason Perry, who was a lap down and went wide in the same turn. As they exited the turn, the two banged bars and both went down, with Marley doing an endo over a kicker right after the turn. Moore just avoided the wipeput and went on to win. Marley was scraped up but walked away, after having some words about blue-flagging with the event manager, ex-pro AX rider Robby McQuary.

.
Thompson finished second, and third went to Cameron Stone, of Chattanooga TN.

Podium Profiles: A closer look at the top three-
.
.
Cameron Stone.

Cameron Stone has been racing for 16 years, and he’s just 19. “I did three of these last year,” said Stone, “I’m thinking about trying the whole series. I race pretty much everywhere, all over the US. I try to do Loretta’s and other nationals like Texas. I did 450 Pro Sport and 450 Pro at Loretta’s. I got a 6th and a 7th. I had some bad luck and should have gotten third.”

“I got a mid-pack start and passed a few people,” said Stone when he was describing his ride in the Clash for Cash. “I just tried to work my way up. A couple of people went down and I came out on third somehow. I almost hit one bike in the whoops and as soon as I turned the corner, there were 2 bikes laying there by the double. I missed them twice so I got lucky.”

When ask about what race he would do next, Stone said, “My next race? I don’t know, whatever is next weekend.”
.
.
Justin Thompson.

Justin Thompson lives between Canada and Florida, and he races, builds tracks and runs a motocross school.

He was battling with Moore earlier in the night, and Moore went off the track in the same place Marley would crash later-right after the whoops. “In the main [AX Pro moto 2], Johnny Marley won, I got second,” he said. “I got by Johnny Moore on the second to last lap. I got a little aggressive. I didn’t mean to, I came in (to the turn after the whoops) a little hot. We came close, no bumping. When you are out there racing, it happens.”

“I’m doing the whole tour,” said Thompson, “I did it the year before. Actually this is my fifth year doing it. I like this arenacross series. I started building the tracks last year. I live between Canada and Florida. I run a camp, MXschools.com. I run that all summer and winter. That’s my main goal, but I also build tracks. I still love racing and it keeps me in it by doing the tracks.”

As far as his finish in the Clash for Cash, Thompson said, “I got a blessing. I had some bad luck early in the moto. I think I was in 6th at one point. I got through to 4th, went back to 6th, and once I got back to 4th, 2 leaders went down. I saw bikes cartwheeling and didn’t realize there were 2 down and I almost jumped into them also. The track is only 15 feet wide so if there are 2 bikes on it, that takes up a lot of room.”
.
.
Johnny Moore.

Johnny Moore leads the series, as Clash for Cash points go toward the championship. “I started out kind of slow this afternoon,” he said, “I didn’t really feel that good. I went back and re-grouped and come out swinging tonight. Coming from the mini-Os and not practicing supercross and arenacross, I was getting kind of nervous to begin with. It worked out pretty good tonight. I was able to calm down and put it together. We came up on a lapper and the lapper went wide. It looked like Marley went wide with him and didn’t have a chance to come inside and they banged bars and went down.”

Moore’s strategy included riding his 250 against the 450s. “I decided to ride the 250F in the 450 class,” he said, “I knew I would give up the start, but I got behind Marley in the start and I knew he would get tired about midway through the race. About halfway through I started catching him and putting a little bit of pressure on him. He made a bobble and went down.”

“I think I was making up time in the corners,” said Moore, “when he (Marley) was in the corners he couldn’t get around them (as fast) but I thought the whoops would be a big advantage for him. We were both able to get through them clean.”

Just before the Arenacross Tour, Moore had to recover from a minor injury and did the Mini-Os. “I went to the Mini-Os,” he said, “I was off three weeks before that because I hurt my thumb at a local race. I went home and re-grouped and figured out how far I wanted to go with this and as soon as I got back on the bike I just hit it hard.”

Moore is 21, and is still improving after moving up from the B-ranks about a year ago. “I have a few more years in me and I’m going to take it as far as I can,” he said, “I’m not in school right now but I actually started some online courses in January. I am going to do supercross. I did New Orleans last year and barely missed out on the night show by a tenth of a second. We are going to get my bike set up to supercross standards go out there and give it a try.”

Moore is off to a good start in the Arenacross Tour and defending Champion Marley has 25 points to make up. “I’m going to do this series,” said Moore, “I would love to win it and go to some supercross in the east and make the night shows. That would be my first step and the next step would be making the main event. I’m going to do a couple of outdoors in the Lites class. I won’t be able to do the whole series with the way the economy is right now, but I would like to do the east rounds and maybe Glen Helen. Marley is fast but he seemed to tire out in the end. I will be back in the gym Monday getting ready for the next round.”

AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony to showcase heroes of past and present

PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- More than three-dozen American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) Motorcycle Hall of Famers will be attending the AMA Racing Championship Banquet, presented by KTM North America, and the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, this Dec. 4-5 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas.

Many well-known legends of motorcycling will join hundreds in the motorcycling community to congratulate AMA's 2009 amateur racing champions on Friday night, and welcome a new class of heroes to the AMA Hall of Fame on Saturday evening.

"The list of confirmed AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famers who will attend the Induction Ceremony as our guests is impressive," said Jack Penton, chairman of the board of the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation, which raises funds for the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame. "This is an opportunity for these motorcycling heroes to catch up with each other, recognize the new class of inductees, and take in the extravaganza that has become the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. For fans of motorcycling, it's also an opportunity to meet their heroes in an incredible setting."

Penton, who himself was inducted in 1999, added that while the AMA Hall of Fame recognizes those who have made contributions to all aspects of motorcycling, it includes many with a competition background. "There is no question that these Hall of Famers will be out in full force at the racing banquet held on Friday evening," Penton said.

Many AMA Hall of Famers in attendance will have the opportunity to participate in both days' activities. At the AMA Racing Championship Banquet, AMA Hall of Famers will be presenting special awards, trophies and No. 1 plates to some of the 2009 amateur racing champions. On Saturday morning, several AMA Hall of Famers will help judge the motorcycles entered in the 2009 AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Concours d'Elegance, presented by FOX Racing Shox.

Although additional confirmations are expected, the following AMA Hall of Famers plan to attend the banquets in Las Vegas in support of the nine members of the Class of 2009:

Gary Bailey
Bill Baird
Chris Carr
Wes Cooley
Marty Dickerson
Jeff Emig
Jeff Fredette
Scot Harden
Tom Heininger
Barry Higgins
Larry Huffman
J.R. Kelley
Ed Kretz, Jr.
Lars Larsson
Gunnar Lindstrom
Judy (wife) and Mike (son) Maely (for the Late Ken Maely)
Denis Manning
Eddie Mulder
Jack Penton
John Penton
Malcolm Smith
Skip Van Leeuwen
Craig Vetter
Ed Waldheim
Bill Werner
Ralph White
Mike and Margaret Wilson

"The production of the AMA Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is so much greater today than it was in 1998 when we started the induction process," Penton said. "It's really a great show, and for these guys to be able to come and see what they're part of now is really special."

GENOA SUPERCROSS ENTRY LIST

IT’S SUPERBOWL TIME

The Genoa Superbowl is coming soon: the challenge that will establish who will be the King of Genoa 2009 has already begun and there are many riders aiming the victory. First of all, the American riders are favourite: they are the men to beat in a very well selected group; but there is also the European Supercross Champion to be decided and such pretenders will be ready face everyone on their way for the title.

Jeremy McGrath is the name who frightens everybody because of his talent, experience and fastness: he knows Genoa and what the public is waiting from a champion like him. The two Yamaha axes, Grant, already winner in Genoa, and Brayton, the last winner of Bercy one month ago, will be fighting for the victory. Ready to overturn forecasts, as it happened last year, there will be almost all the Supercross Champions coming from Europe: starting from Izoird and Aranda, fighting for the title, going on with Coulon and Rivas, respectively reigning champions of France and Spain and winners in Bilbao and Milan; to finish with the other French riders who lighted up the UEM SX Series 2009: Vanni, Martin, Vongsana and Leuret. Ready for a great results Pellegrini and Paulo Alberto too, the reigning Italian and Portuguese champions.

Do not loose this great challenge, which is foreseen to be juicy and appetizing for the discriminating taste of Supercross supporters, who come to Genoa, in order to watch races every year more and more exciting for the competition and the growing technical level. This edition will be the revenge for “stars and stripes” riders, even if European riders have not respect or fear anymore, waiting for the time to race: the fight is engaged!

GENOVA SUPERCROSS ENTRY LIST

GENOVA SUPERCROSS ENTRY LIST

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ricky Dietrich Wins Vegas EnduroCross Final

Colton Haaker wins E3 Spark Plugs Junior Championship

LAS VEGAS, NV (November 21, 2009) –  After a close second place finish at the opening round, Ricky Dietrich, the defending EnduroCross Champion suffered an injury at round two of the 2009 Geico EnduroCross Series presented by E3 Spark Plugs and was not a factor in the championship.  But tonight, Dietrich played the role of spoiler.  KTM’s Taddy Blazusiak had the $50,000 Geico Triple Crown bonus on the line if he could win the Vegas final.  But Blazusiak did not get a great start and went down hard while trying to make up time on the first lap.

Muscle Milk KTM’s Mike Brown set the fastest hot lap to get the day started.  Blazusiak had the second fastest time ahead of Sherco mounted Graham Jarvis, a top trials rider from the UK that is proving his ability at EnduroCross type events on both sides of the pond.

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Destry Abbot competed in the Baja 1000 the day before and made the long drive to Vegas pay off by collecting the $500 Girardi Wealth Management Holeshot award to start the main event.  His lead was short lived however as there was a lot of bumping and banging during the first lap and most of the field got stuck in the in the large rock pile.  Christini KTM mounted Geoff Aaron took the lead and appeared to be on his way to his second main event win of the season but Dietrich pushed hard to close the gap and made a pass for the lead on lap six.  Aaron held onto second while Damon Huffman won a race long battle with Lucas Oil backed Colton Haaker for the final podium position.  Taddy Blazusiak recovered from his first lap crash to finish fifth but has an extremely sore knee.

Blazusiak had already clinched the 2009 Geico Powersports EnduroCross championship and Geoff Aaron finished second ahead of Huffman.  By finishing fourth overall in the series, Colton Haaker won the inaugural E3 Spark Plugs’ EnduroCross Pro Junior Championship, the series within a series that allows riders aged 16-21 to compete for an AMA number one plate.  Husqvarna’s Cory Graffunder finished fifth overall and second in the chase for the Junior Championship.

The Las Vegas EnduroCross final also played host to three classes of Amateur Grand Championships.  Riders qualified by finishing in the top two at the previous five rounds to earn a place in the Amateur finals in Las Vegas.  Geico backed Eric Rodgers won the Open Amateur title.  Sixteen year old Ryan Sandoval won the TrialsCross title and Joe Kopp, the former Grand National Dirt Track champion won the Vet Grand Championship.

Final 2009 GEICO AMA EnduroCross round features all-star lineup of both U.S. & global top off-road racers

The Nov. 21st EnduroCross finals at Vegas’ Orleans may be the greatest indoor off-road field ever assembled – just making the main event will be a victory for some!

ANAHEIM, Calif. (Nov. 12, 2009) – You’d be hard-pressed to find a more impressive all-star off-road lineup that’s getting set here to boot up for the final round of the 2009 GEICO AMA EnduroCross, presented by E3 Spark Plugs, series at Vegas’ Orleans Arena (Nov. 21st).

The list of riders scheduled to compete reads like a veritable who’s who of today’s top professional off-road motorcycle pilots. Descending on Vegas from all points of the globe – and led by newly crowned ’09 GEICO AMA EnduroCross champion, KTM’s Taddy Blazusiak – the Orleans Arena contest is just a week-and-a-half away in what should prove to be a thrilling test of man, machine and those insane obstacles set to separate man and machine!

“In the six-year history of GEICO EnduroCross I don’t think we’ve ever assembled a field quite like this,” said Mike Karsting VP of Events for Source Interlink Media. “You’ve got a former AMA Outdoor National champion and current 2009 WORCS champion (Mike Brown/KTM), two former AMA Supercross champions (Damon Huffman/Kawasaki and Ty Davis/Husqvarna), a ten-time U.S. AMA Trials champion (Geoff Aaron/KTM), the current E3 Spark Plugs’ Pro Junior EnduroCross Championship points leader (Colton Haaker/Kawasaki), the defending 2008 GEICO EnduroCross champion (Ricky Dietrich/Kawasaki), a five-time national AMA Hare Scrambles champion (Jason Raines/Yamaha), the five-time AMA Hare & Hound national champion (Destry Abbott/Kawasaki) and a six-time WORCS champion (Justin Soule/KTM).

And that’s just the Americans!

Coming from overseas and Canada are former FIM Trials champion Graham Jarvis (UK), along with Canadian off-road greats Bobby Prochnau (KTM) and Cory Graffunder (Husqvarna) – who’s currently running 2nd in the Spark Plugs’ Pro Junior EnduroCross Championship points chase.

“In order to just qualify for the main event you’re going to have to beat a number of champions,” added Karsting.

Working to elevate their names a number of younger racers like Jamie Lanza (Yamaha) and Kyle Redmond (Kawasaki), both of whom are ranked in the top ten overall in points – and top five in points out of the 16-to-21-year olds.

And, if the aforementioned racers weren’t enough, word on the trails is that 2007 GEICO EnduroCross champ, two-time GNCC champ and multi-time FIM Enduro champ David Knight (KTM) is planning on racing the final GEICO EnduroCross round. If he does, Knight would have a shot at wrecking the $50,000 payday Blazusiak has set himself up to win by taking the first two (of three) rounds of the GEICO Triple Crown of EnduroCross! Note: This would be a MAJOR payback for the 2007 GEICO Triple Crown where Blazusiak came in won the third round after Knight had won the first two!
